Dare to Aspire

This day you

L

L

A set back indeed
You reason “to stay in bed would have been better”
But the falling is learning
Fall forward without turning
Your gaze stays fixed after all

You set out to climb a slippery spire
Each step the risk grows higher and higher
Those who spectate sneer or fear
Some offer warm warning
Others, severe

As you tend to your wounds,
and make a new plan,
Heed the critic
and name them friend,
for theirs is the hand,
that helps you ascend
